Notes: Technicians are the engineering corps of the Empire's grand army, a task they carry out with pride.  Technicians will tend to specialize in a certain task, be it construction, tanking, or demolitions.  Though they are not typically on the frontlines, Technicians nevertheless fulfill an essential service for the Empire's war machines.

Due to the nature of their operations, Technicians find themselves in more close-quarters situations than most other soldiers in the Empire.  Though they are not expected to fight, they are more than capable of engaging enemy forces in pitched combat.  However, many of them are assigned weapons specifically for engaging the enemy at close ranges.  One such weapon is the Mk. I Canister Rifle, a weapon the utilizes special canisters, each of which has an intended use.  The most common are flechette canisters, which spray a wave of deadly shrapnel at oncoming forces.  Other examples include armor-piercing, explosive, and gas.  A Technician armed with this will typically carry a variety of canisters for differing situations.

A team of highly trained and well organized Technicians can alter the course of a battle, whether it is by the timely construction of an outpost, the repairing of a damaged vehicle, or the leveling of a troublesome building.  They may not gain the same glory as the men at the front of pitched combat, but they do provide an invaluable support to the Empire, without which many a campaign would be lost.
